“Socks Off” is the first studio recording by TV Pole Shine, a 12-piece pop-funk outfit that’s been playing music in downtown New Orleans since 2016. Featuring two tracks from their upcoming debut LP, To Screw in a Lightbulb, “Socks Off” boasts all the features that have made TV Pole Shine such a strange and original group: a booming horn section, infectious hooks, and head-scratching, toe-tapping rhythms.

The album title comes from a lyric in "Your Empanadas," written by singer Bennett Kirschner for bassist/restaurateur Ricky Ostry -- "Your empanadas are hotter / than Cassius Clay working the sauna / and taking his socks off in August." As if on queue, TV Pole Shine comes out with their first sampling of studio recordings on July 28th.
